"Everyday life fascinates me. The routines, the gestures, the mundane rituals, forming and filling daily life. I enjoy placing a magnifying glass over an object, over an activity or a phenomenon that is considered mundane and commonplace. To zoom in, to zoom out, to perceive it anew. To explore, study and engage with it from a variety of standpoints and perspectives. When carefully dissected and defamiliarised, the mundane reveals its fascinating complexity.
I design everyday products that intent to create an engaging and stimulating environment. By allowing the simple things in life to be valuable, the opportunity is created to enrich, expand, complicate, and reinvent those activities. Through my designs I aim to create space for the development of own practices; of contemporary rituals of current daily life. I aim to evoke action, to stimulate engagement and to spark a curiosity towards the phenomena of everyday."
